TV STATIONS, ANCHORS TEAM UP FOR UNITED WAY

Local TV viewers are used to seeing news anchors Tonya Terry and Glenn Halbrooks on their separate TV stations, WSFA 12 News and WAKA CBS 8 but the two anchors and their stations
have now teamed up for a pecial cause...the River Region United Way.

Terry, co-anchor of "Today in Alabama" on WSFA-TV, and Halbrooks, news anchor and managing editor of WAKA-TV news, recently taped a 30-second TV spot for United Way which will be airing soon.  In addition, the two are co-chairs of the River Region United Way's residential campaign, a letter-writing effort to reach retirees and others not in a traditional workplace.

"We are deeply grateful to Glenn and Tonya as well as Channel 8 and Channel 12 for putting competition aside to help United Way do what matters in the River Region," said 2007 United Way Campaign Chairman Bob Ramsey.
